Joyce Alig Memorial Tree Dedication

When: TBD, Spring 2025

Where: Front Lawn of the Riley House museum property.

Following her many years of dedicated service as the president and director of the Mercer County Historical Society, the late Joyce Alig will have a tree planted in her honor on the Riley House museum property. The tree chosen, an Appalachian Red Redbud, is known to symbolize hope and renewal. Joyce’s hard work and extensive research has ensured that the Mercer County Historical Society will enjoy many more years of sharing the history of Mercer County, Ohio, with visitors from across the globe.

We are honored to plant this tree with the blessing of her family members. A plaque will later be mounted at the tree’s base detailing Joyce’s years of service and a message of sincere thanks from the historical society.
